Last October, Hot Wheels Designer Brendan Vetuskey was showing off his latest creation at the 30th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Convention in Los Angeles. I was fortunate enough to have been there and to have been one of the first to take the #Gotta Go for a spin. Upon attempting to scoot this new #Toilet truck across the table, Brendan lent his finger to show how the toilet seat flaps up-and-down as the truck moves.

In February of this year, that #Gotta Go finally hit retail here in the United States, as part of the #2017 Hot Wheels “E” case assortment. The “E” cases seemed sparse at the time so I was unable to obtain this one right away. NOTE: The “E” cases are now appearing at local dollar stores so its a great time to pick up more of these when you’re grabbing those Gas Monkey Garage Corvettes. So while I didn’t have the release in front of me that the time, I was able to use a close-up of the Gotta Go that was sitting in front of Brendan at his convention autograph session to illustrate some of the discrete toilet aspects of this truck.

At the time of the release of the #Gotta Go, Brendan hopped onto the HotWheelsCollectors.com forums to see what everyone thought of it, and to see if they could locate all — I believe he said seven — of the toilet references. He made reference to the illustration I made above and noted that the white fenders were not meant to represent toilet paper. Upon finally opening the one I had, I realized the toilet paper appears on back and serves as what looks to be a rear bumper and/or a license plate holder.

The taillights are clearly faucet handles so that ultimately leaves me with six toilet/bathroom references on the #Gotta Go. If you find any more, past what I have shown & mentioned already, please leave those in the comments section below.

This Experimotors release of the #Gotta Go is the #First Edition of the casting and its only release so far. Just like all the #Experimotors this year, this truck’s flapping toilet seat acts as its #Moving Part in a series that celebrates moving pieces and functionality. Its anybody’s guess when and where we will see this toilet truck again, but as long as the potty aspect doesn’t become a problem for Mattel legal, we should see this terrific casting again. Its not like its the first #Toilet car Hot Wheels has made. See 1998 First Editions: HOT SEAT.
