10/9/2016 — This weekend, at the 30th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Convention in Los Angeles, two designers brought previously unseen (outside of Mattel) 2017 New Models to their stations at the Autograph Signings. El Viento

New designer, Lindsey Lee said that the name El Viento means “the wind” in Spanish. Marketing chose this name because this car is “as fast as wind”. Since this is an electric car a natural name like “El Viento” is very suiting.

Gotta Go

Hot Wheels designer, Brendon Vetuskey decided to have a little fun when working on a fresh, new series called the Experimotors. Marketing wanted a moving part so he delivered in the bed of this retro truck with a flapping toilet seat (video below). The #Hot Seat may have had its final flush in 2004, but the toilet is back in the Hot Wheels lineup. Also, Brendon noted that there are several toilet references on this casting in addition to the urinal-shaped grill. Can you find them all?
