The #Hot Wheels Entertainment Line #FORZA Motorsport mix may very well be the best wave from the 4-year-old line yet! With the line back for its 5th year in 2017, it will carry a new name as it will now be known as the “Replica Entertainment” line — and we only hope it carries the momentum from 2016 over. If you read the article on the FORZA Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, you’ll know that we are all for where the line is headed.

Of the newest (and last for 2016) mix, there is one car that has the collectors talking … the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA. This is a brand-new casting designed by Hot Wheels designer Mark Jones and its red & white painted body has collectors thinking this is the new Vintage Racing: Datsun Bluebired 510.

While it surely is, and will continue to be a collector favorite, this release will most likely never reach the prices of the aforementioned Datsun release as it certainly seems to be produced at a much higher quantity. The retail stores haven’t even started getting the #FORZA Motorsport mix in yet, but collectors have been finding the boxed set (sold exclusively at Toys R Us for $24.99) on the shelves.

The street date for these sets is October 30, 2016, however, it seems as though they have been put out early at most TRU stores. When taken to purchase at the registers, the cashiers have been getting a prompt alarming them of the street date but after a quick manager override, your #FORZA Motorsport 5-car set is complete! So with the set showing up at TRU, and hobby dealers already getting their allotments, supply has already shot up which should be nice if you’re in the market for one of these beauties.

The #16 #FORZA Motorsport graphics are spot on — even, the two FORZA logos on the hood come together to look like a pair of wings. Since this is the #First Edition of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA, its amazing that this graphics scheme is a home run. We’ve seen that before and those usually tend to be the releases that are highly desirable on the secondary market. I’m just glad I was able to snag this one from TRU before the demand rises.
