HW Race Day (2019 New Model): ’64 NOVA WAGON GASSER

With the overwhelming popularity of the #’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser — and other #Gassers — among Hot Wheels collectors, you knew it was only a matter of time before Hot Wheels introduced a new gasser into the mix. Enter the #’64 Nova Wagon Gasser. Just like the ’55, the ’64 Nova Wagon Gasser is also a #Brendon Vetuskey Design, and its already a hit with collectors. It started showing up in the 2019 Hot Wheels mainline “K” case assortments, and collectors have not been leaving it behind.

This #First Edition release comes to us in cyan, while there is a primer gray variant coming in an upcoming mix. It, like many other #Gassers, features a play on words with “JERRY-RIGGED” emblazoned on its sides. That right there clues you into who did the graphics for this one: Hot Wheels Graphic Designer, #Jerry Thienprasiddhi. Also, check out the vintage Chevrolet and Hot Wheels logos on the rear quarter-panel!

Overall, its easy to see why the #’64 Nova Wagon Gasser is popular with collectors; but this goes beyond the fact that collectors love to collect #Gassers — and #Station Wagons. The straight body lines of this #Nova wagon combined with the 8-cylinder, #Blown Engine, and exhaust tucked behind the front wheels are all nice touches by Brendon, giving the casting loads of charm. Add in that playful graphics by Jerry T. and its no wonder why collectors love this new casting already. Its easily one of the top #2019 New Model castings, and one that we are likely to see revamped in premium form. The future is bright for this brand-new casting, and it will be interesting to see where Hot Wheels takes it next.

  1. Thanks for the pictures BRAD. Now we need this BADBOY to become an RLC issue. Cannot wait to see what VAN does with this if it makes it’s way to the RLC. Will be on the lookout for this one.
