6/19/2019 — After casually sorting through some of my latest finds, I noticed a #Variation when comparing the two #2019 Hot Wheels #Red Edition HW50 Concepts I had. One had a chrome interior/engine, whereas the other one had black. Thats a pretty resounding variation as I know interior variations can often be extremely valuable for variation hunters.
My first instinct was to see which was the “more rare” of the two. I searched through many recent Red Edition finds on Instagram. Much to my dismay, I found that both appear to be common — figures, huh? Darn. But needless to say, it was extremely fun to discover a variation that I haven’t seen called out anywhere. So, since these are hitting now, make sure you are on the lookout for this variation when scouring the pegs.
Oh, and for the record, the black interior/engine has a “M11” base code and the chrome one has “M12”. Sometimes base codes can be crucial to determining if there was a running change from one to the other. Lets us know in the comments below what your ratio of the black interior/engine to the chrome one is, AND what the base codes are.
