HW Ride-Ons (2019 New Model): WHEELIE CHAIR

When you think Hot Wheels has thought of everything, you often wonder, “what will they think of next?” A wheelchair? Sure, why not.

This brand-new casting is called the #Wheelie Chair and this #First Edition release features a licensed deco for extreme wheelchair athlete, Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham. Check out THIS VIDEO of Aaron preforming stunts and tell me this guy is not badass.

For an assist with this totally wicked casting, I had to enlist the services of OTD’s resident #HW Ride-Ons expert, Stan the MegaBloks man.

Hot Wheels Wheelie Chair from the 2019 HW Ride-Ons series … also part of the 2019 New Models (with MegaBlocks figure)

Stan took the #Wheelie Chair for a spin. Being a stuntman of his own, he attempted several tricks with this wheelchair and his stunts were captured in the images below. Oh, Stan…

As you can see (from this video link), this #HW Ride-Ons Series release of the #Wheelie Chair is lime green, just like Aaron’s wheelchair — hence the licensed deco. The license extends to the card where “AARON WHEELZ FOTHERINGHAM” is listed in the upper-left, complete with an illustration of Aaron doing a stunt on the Wheelie Chair, and his signature below that.

The #Wheelie Chair is compatible with Lego/MegaBloks mini figures, as their hands can clip onto the rail that extends from one side, across the rear and onto the other side — which is enough for it to be included as part of the #HW Ride-Ons Series. Also, there is a part of the base (that extends past the footrest), that mini figures can grab on to, as well.

The Hot Wheels #Wheelie Chair is another fun casting, from the mind of former Hot Wheels Designer, Alvin Chan — and the tie-in with Aaron Wheelz Fotheringham was an excellent touch. This release just started showing up at retail in the United States as part of the #2019 Hot Wheels “C” case assortment. I, in fact, just found it yesterday at my local Target, so look for it now.

As for Stan the MegaBloks man? Lets just say he is eagerly waiting contestants for a downhill Wheelie Chair race. As for me? I’m pondering, “what will they think of next?”
