How cool is it, that even in retirement, former Hot Wheels designer Larry Wood can still design fantastic cars like this!?! One of the newest #2017 New Models is the #Surf ‘N Turf which is showing up now in the United States as part of the “J” case assortments of the 2017 Hot Wheels mainline. This #’Tooned woody features an aggressively-raked back-end and a gigantic #Blown Engine.

A view from the top reveals a #Surfboard that is molded into the plastic sunroof/windows piece. Without a tampo this could have came off super cheap looking but since it has the surfboard tampo on it, it looks pretty cool. You can definitely “hang ten” on the orange track as there are no worries of loosing this surfboard!

Also, as you can see from the pic below, Larry snuck another one of his famous Easter eggs — which I call “added character measures” — in the back seat as the #Surf ‘N Turf has a guitar molded as part of the interior piece. With these added details, you can almost envision who the owner of this car could be.

If you’re a collector of the #’Tooned vehicles, this new #First Edition of the #Surf ‘N Turf is a must have. Even if you’re just a fan of Larry Wood, this one screams classic Larry as he is the man behind many (if not all) of the Hot Wheels woodies. At the 17th Annual Hot Wheels Nationals Convention in Pittsburgh just a couple weeks ago, Larry chose this brand-new casting to grace his autograph sheets for the event. Clearly a bold statement by Larry and his support of this casting, to pick the Surf ‘N Turf over one of the more popular castings from the hundreds of Hot Wheels he has designed. I can only imagine the excitement Mr. Hot Wheels himself generated for the Surf ‘N Turf at the event. Get out there, get hunting, and look for this #2017 New Model at retail now as part of the #’Tooned Series (2017).
