Keep your eyes peeled at all times! …lesson for even the most experienced of diecast hunters! We have all been to the pegs at a retail store, got overly-excited for hitting the jackpot or got antsy and left due to the lack of new inventory. Chances are, you’ve skipped over various products that don’t contain the usual chase pieces. One of those products I often pass over are the Hot Wheels 9-Packs. Well, the other day, I was at Toys R Us and had some extra time so I proceeded to skim through the 9-Packs even though the front facing one was nothing special. Hidden near the back of the shelf was a strikingly different 9-Pack full of vehicles I haven’t seen before. The Blue 2017 HW Flames ’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser stood out at first, it was next to this little gem.
#Multi-Pack Exclusives are great for casting collectors as you can usually find some more limited variations of some of your favorite castings. Often, these are variations existing releases — even if they are revived from the past. This yellow #’70 Ford Escort RS1600 is a #2017 Hot Wheels car which is a colorway of a 2015 release. Released in the 2015 HW Workshop / Garage series, the #First Edition of this casting featured this same design in blue. The cool part was that release was a licensed #Fast & Furious replica. While that release was incredible popular with collectors given its replica status, this yellow/black colorway seems like a pretty cool find.

RELEASE DETAILS: Yellow Enamel Body (metal). Tinted Windows. Chrome Interior. Chrome Wire-Spoke (WSP) Wheels. Black Base (plastic). Made in Malaysia. Toy#X6999. Released in 2017 as a Mult-Pack Exclusive.

Hey! I was recently just starting to hunt for rs1600 escorts; what multi-pack is this in? I can’t find it in the wiki and elsewhere. Thanks in advance! I love your site. 🙂
Hey Jay, not sure how to differentiate the multipacks, but this was found in both 9-Packs and 3-Packs last year. Check those walmart checkout lanes for old 3-Packs and you may get lucky. Otherwise, I see these on eBay and The Toy Peddler all the time.
I have 2. Wonder what could they be worth?
