This is a story — albeit a short one — about the common and uncommon versions of the Hot Wheels 2012 New Models ’13 Dodge Viper SRT.
Unveiled at the 2012 New York International Auto Show in April of 2012, the 3rd generation of the Dodge #Viper focused on returning the high-end sports car back to its raw power, curvy roots while giving it every amenity of a modern day luxury sports car. At the show, a variation of the Hot Wheels 2012 New Models ’13 Dodge Viper SRT was given out to attendees.
The common mainline variation of the 2012 New Models is shown on the left and features a black hood/roof stripe with a white line on the driver’s side. This varies from the #Auto Show Exclusive that is meant to be a replica of the actual 1:1 Viper unveiled at the show. The most notable difference between the two is the lack of the hood/roof stripes on the auto show variation. Apart from that, the auto show variation also has black “SRT” badges on the sides, black painted hood vents and a detailed rear fascia.
The Hot Wheels ’13 Dodge Viper SRT has been used sparingly since these 2012 New Models releases with two colorways of the HW Workshop / Garage Series in 2014, and two #Multi-Pack Exclusives in 2015 & 2016. As such a great representation of the real car and as a Viper fanatic, I’d personally love to see more of this casting from our friends at Hot Wheels.
