The other day I was at Target, rummaging through the pegs full of old stock. I didn’t even bother to finish looking through the mainlines as it was the same old #Unlicensed Hot Wheels that I have been coming across lately. Unwilling to accept an unsuccessful visit to Target, I decided to check out the Truckin’ Transporters since online re-sellers have taken an interest in the new Dekotora-inspired Galactic Express from that line. They had a few, but for me, it just didn’t have a place in my collection, so I passed.
Instead, I saw this matte red Bone Shaker which kind of had a rat rod look to it. While I don’t chase every #Bone Shaker release, I do collect that ones that pique my interest and that I can get for retail price — a nice caveat of not having to collect every release of a casting! Its a laid back approach that I should take more often. So needless to say, this Hot Rod Shop Bone Shaker (and its transporter) have found their way into my modest Bone Shaker collection.

Below, you can see the Bone Shaker in closer detail. Complete with a “Hot Wheels Hod Rod Shop” emblem on the doors and spider web “pin-striping”, the small amount of teal ties into the questionably painted, anodized teal base. Still, its different than the other Bone Shakers out there so I picked it up.
While its impossible to know of every single car Hot Wheels puts out, I consider myself pretty well dialed-in to the Hot Wheels pulse. So much to my surprise, this Truckin’ Transporters release was actually on shelves in 2014. Not too surprising that this was re-released as that is something that happens often with Hot Wheels releases in the Color Shifters and Playset exclusive lines. Maybe it was a limited release in the first run, but I’m glad it found its way back onto shelves as I had definitely missed it that first time around.
