That infamous #Hot Wheels Classics Series 5 sure introduced to us some great castings back in 2009. This was one of them! The ’59 Cadillac Funny Car had an initial release wearing Spectraflame Ice Blue knocking collectors flat on their back with excitement.
In addition to that Spectraflame Ice Blue paint, there are some nice flame graphics, a small drag racing number, the Hot Wheels logo and a Mooneyes logo right behind the front wheels. While there is a rather beautiful “chase” piece of this same car that wears Real Rider 5-Spoke Wheels, this “normal” version is just as nice, plus it works great on the Hot Wheels Super 6-Lane Raceway (even though the front end drags a little).
The ’59 Cadillac Funny Car has been released consistently since 2009 and, as-of-late, has been popping up [pun not intended] in the Pop Culture line for Hot Wheels. While we’re still dreaming of a Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Funny Car, there is no release of this casting slated for 2015. If you’re thinking of adding this casting to your stable, check out one of these Classics releases as they can be had for not much more than they retailed for.
RELEASE DETAILS: Spectraflame Ice Blue Body (metal). Clear Windows. Gray Interior. Chrome 5-Spoke (5SP) Wheels w/ Goodyear Tampos on rear wheels. Unpainted Metal Base. Made in Thailand. Toy# N6938. Releases in 2009 as part of the Hot Wheels Classics Series 5.
