Cars of the Decades: ’08 DODGE VIPER SRT10 ACR

Where does the time go? Seems like yesterday Walmart was carrying the Cars of the Decades line. Since its 2-year run ended in 2012, we have seem Walmart carry the Jukebox line (2013) and 2-years of the Road Trippin’ line (2014-2015) as their exclusive lines. While the lines aren’t extremely popular due to their “maximization of graphics”, there are a few select castings to be had.

The 2012 Cars of the Decades line did a great job at minimizing said graphics and really trying to make the cars look as if they came out of that particular decade they were included in. The ’08 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR was included in the decade of the “00’s”, or 2000’s. It was in one of the last few waves of the line before it switched over to the Jukebox line. If you have been reading some of the prior articles here at Diecast Motorsports, you’ll notice a common denominator in some Hot Wheels that are hard to find: cars in the last mix or two before a line is discontinued. While I was able to find this one on the pegs, the scarcity of this one is proven in how many are currently for sale on secondary sites: ZERO. A very similar looking version was found in Hot Wheels multi-packs and you can see that one >>> HERE.

Earlier this year, the ’08 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR was released in the HW Workshop /  Drift Race Series. The release of that version was significant in that it was the first release of this casting to feature a metal spoiler.
