FLAME ON! We are in the dead-heat of summer and here in Phoenix, temperatures are over 100˚F on a daily basis. Still, looking at the paint job on this ’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser has to turn up the heat. The bright orange paint coupled with the white-hot flames screams Hot Wheels Heat Fleet–AND if thats not enough, the words “HEAT FLEET” are bolstered across the side of the car. The Hot Wheels Heat Fleet Series is one in which all of the vehicles that are a part of it, have received some sort of flame graphics. Officially dubbed the Heat Fleet Series in 1997, there have been many reiterations of the flamed series in both mainline and 5-Pack form. The castings for 2015’s Heat Fleet Series were voted on by members of HotWheelsCollectors.com.
In addition to receiving white-hot flames, the ’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser has already been hot as of late. It is a casting that many people have begun to collect. Gassers are in, but its this castings body lines that steal the show. Last year, we got a taste of how popular this casting was as evidence by the demand for the Super Treasure Hunt. Before the year is over, we should see at least two more releases of this casting. There is a ZAMAC version of the Heat Fleet car coming in the 2015 “M” Case Codes, and HWC’s Red Line Club is scheduled to release the “Candy Striper” version of this gasser.
