Hot Wheels of the Day
Custom Corvette Stingray Coupe
Car Culture / Team Transport (Legends Tour Exclusive)
RELEASE YEAR: 2021 • CASTING DESIGNER: MARK JONES

The #Hot Wheels Legends Tour is once again having in-person events — despite the limited number of locales. Still, it’s great to see those in Miami, Detroit, Houston, and Los Angeles be back at the events. As a consolation prize, the rest of us are still watching the livestream events. That isn’t a bad thing however, as this #Walmart Exclusive #Team Transport set featuring the #Custom Corvette Stingray Coupe and #Carry On can still be had for the retail price of $12.97 (as part of a bundle) on walmart.com during the livestream events.
Obtaining one hasn’t been easy as you’re always competing against profiteers (collectors looking for more than one, and resellers). Fortunately, I was able to secure one and add it to my up-to-date #Team Transport collection — yes, even the Supreme release.

CURRENT MARKET VALUE (Carded /Set, August 2021)

I’m starting to think the yellow & black #Hot Wheels Legends Tour livery would look good on job about every custom car Hot Wheels produces and if this Legends #Team Transport is indeed a yearly thing, this will be one heck of a collection to build.

The Custom Corvette Stingray Coupe is a new #Corvette casting that debuted just last year. No idea how or why it was chosen for this #Hot Wheels Legends Tour #Team Transport set, but it is cool to see a limited release of this casting right off the bat. Hot Wheels has focused on just about everything outside of #Muscle Cars in #Car Culture lately, so it is refreshing to see a new take on a classic American sports car.
The Hot Wheels ’63 Corvette (Split Window ’63) is a classic Hot Wheels casting, but it doesn’t meet today’s premium standards; and the ’64 Corvette Sting Ray is cool, but is not a cool (or as muscular) of a design as this #Custom Corvette Stingray Coupe which is based on the ’65. This is the casting’s third release — all in premium — as it appeared in Fast & Furious and in Team Transport in 2020.
And, since just about every #Team Transport has come on this style blister card, it only made sense having the Walmart parking lot be the backdrop on this one since the in-person events are held at Walmarts nationwide.

Unpopular Opinion: The Legends Team Transport is better than the previous two releases combined!”
Think I got a set coming, we’ll see if Walmart online comes thru with delivery.
Love this ’65 Vette – in all 3 versions
This TT set is by far my favorite yet.
