Here’s one for all you Hot Wheels treasure hunters out there. Surely, you remember the Matte Silver and Blue #So Plowed that came out almost a year ago in the #2017 Hot Wheels “F” case assortments, right? Not the best regular #Treasure Hunt out there, but certainly no where near the worst.
In 2017, you’ll also remember that every regular #Treasure Hunt had at least one colorway (or recolor) that wasn’t a treasure hunt. Such was the case with the #HW Snow Stormers #So Plowed which later showed up in the #2017 Hot Wheels “K” and “L” case assortments. Sure enough, the #Flame Logo (TH) had been removed from the right side of the vehicle (outward facing side in packaging), however, whoever removed it from the artwork file, never removed it from the left side, the side that faces inward towards the card back. So low and behold, the #Flame Logo (not a TH) remains…
No harm, no foul, right? There is no where near the amount of collectors confusing this for a real #Treasure Hunt as there were when the 2015 HW Rescue Series: Fiat 500 came out — remember that? Either way, it makes for a cool story… one that you may have or have not heard already considering this satin red colorway has been out since last April.
Any fans of the Hot Wheels #So Plowed? Not sure I will ever feature it again unless it has an interesting story like this, but is a pretty cool snow plow for an #Unlicensed Hot Wheels vehicle. Perhaps my favorite part is the salt/sand distributor that is cast into the plastic bed of the truck (see photo above) … just a cool, little detail you probably haven’t noticed if you still have this casting packaged up.
The #So Plowed is clearly a #Work Truck that is aimed at kids. So while some collectors may be mad that this was featured as a regular #Treasure Hunt, I think its great that this car is in the mainline to begin with. One of my favorite Hot Wheels when I was a youngster was the Oshkosh Snow Plow. Remember that one? It was big, orange and early editions were all metal — AND, it had a plow shovel that you could attach and detach from the front. I remember those things driving up and down my street in the winter time. Not really sure what snow plows look like nowadays since I now live in a place that doesn’t get any snow, but if they look anywhere near as cool as this one, I’m sure the So Plowed is a must-have for some kids out there.

I noticed both of these #HW Snow Stormers colorways of the #So Plowed hanging on the pegs of my local grocery store the other day. Since I have been wanting to do this article for a while and I couldn’t remember if I had them already, I grabbed them since they were only 88¢ to begin with. The point is, if you see these still hanging around, and you live in an area where snow plows are prevalent, pick them up and give them to a youngster…. you may just inspire a future treasure hunter.
