Star Wars Character Cars / Rogue One 5-Pack: CAPTAIN CASSIAN ANDOR

While it may have been Baze Malbus that had me wanting to buy this #Hot Wheels Character Cars / #Star Wars #Rogue One 5-Pack, it was the #Captain Cassian Andor casting that sealed the deal. This car that resembles a new #Camaro in the front, mixed with the color and T-Tops of a classic #Firebird, is exclusive to this 5-Pack — which is exclusive to Target, making the car itself, a #Target Exclusive.

Hot Wheels / Star Wars Character Cars Rogue One 5-Pack featuring Baze Malbus, Chirrut Îmwe, Jyn Erso, Captain Cassian Andor and Death Trooper

Had #Pontiac still been around today, and was still making the #Firebird, there is a good chance that the Trans Am trim level would look similar to this car — sans the additional “character features”. With a short stretch of imagination, you can kind of see this one running down the road. On the back of the #Rogue One 5-Pack, the following was said about this car:

Rebel fighters are revved and ready to attack Imperial forces, including the fearsome Death Trooper. This epic galactic battle will require the fierce conviction of Jyn Erso, the brutish intensity of Baze Malbus, and the swift agility of Chirrut Îmwe.

Who else is brave enough to join their risky mission? A muscle car speeds into action with all the poise, courage and charisma of Captain Cassian Andor. This accomplished racer boasts a high-octane engine and incredible firepower, with an oversized blaster on the hood and ammo on the front and rear bumpers. Heroes and history will soon be made!

From the front perspective, it feels as though everything was done right, at least past the belt and the blaster shaped, #Blown Engine. From the back its another story. Sure, the back end has a nice, big #Muscle Car feel to it but two things kind of take away from the casting’s overall coolness factor: the gap between the body’s front and rear, and the weird, mock folded down convertible top (for lack of a better description). Sure, they are little things that we wouldn’t even be talking about if this car was as outlandish as some of the other #Character Cars, but if those two things were omitted, this would be one of my favorite new designs.

This could very well be the first and only release of #Captain Cassian Andor. So far, looking at the other #Star Wars #Character Cars #5-Pack Exclusives, 3 of the 4 castings were only released once. Granted, it doesn’t seem like the Star Wars Character Cars will be discontinuing any time soon so it does leave the door open. Feel free to leave your thoughts on this one, below.

    • Hey Paul, this one came out at the beginning of the year. Most Targets sold out of these quick as it was probably one of the better character cars 5-packs released. You may get lucky in finding a Target that still has one, or else you’ll have to resort to a secondary sale site like ebay.
