The Morris Mini — which I still affectionately refer to as the “Mini Cooper” since that was it’s original name — is a #Treasure Hunt once again! This stout racer originally debuted in the series back in 2002, before returning in the anniversary year of 2005, as a super in 2019, and now as a regular in 2022. As you can see by clicking on the #Mini Cooper tag, I am quite the fan of this casting, so I am thrilled to see this release round out the three tiers of Treasure Hunts. Only the #’67 Camaro ranks ahead of it with five Treasure Hunts releases.

When I interviewed it’s designer (Phil Riehlman) back in 2020 for an article I wrote for HotWheelsCollectors.com, Phil stated that he wanted to show off the detailed engine and interior of the Mini as this would be a, “raced-out, fat-flared, stout little Morris Mini Cooper”. He designed with with a switch in the base so you could effectively “pop-off” the body.
Its stature — both in appearance & with it’s collector appeal — has made it a cult-favorite among collectors, even after the basics tool lost the ability to allow the body to pop-off. The premium tool of the casting still has the feature, but no longer has the roll cage. So now, its up to the appeal of this fender-flared, stout Mini to garner collector attention without the special feature.

Even with the very noticeable rivet post that hurts the ground-level shot (as seen in the photo above), the #Mini Cooper still has the character of the original tool — just a little less. Cool decos like this #7 racing livery certainly help detract from the lessened interior. This release features “P. Riehlman” below the window in honor of its designer, various sponsor logos, a gloss black roof with two racing stripes, and a red #Flame Logo so you know you have found a #Treasure Hunt!

Since this is the 4th time the #Mini Cooper has been a #Treasure Hunt, I thought it would be fun to get a shot of all the TH logos that have been used to designate this car as one over the years. As you can see below, they were placed on the doors, truck, and hood — with no two logos being the same.
The #Compact Kings #Mini Cooper is showing up now as part of the #2022 Hot Wheels “H” case assortment. Look for it at retail now and have it join the ranks of #Treasure Hunt royalty. Check out the FULL LIST OF 2022 Treasure Hunts HERE!

One of my favorites! I probably have over 100 different variations between the saloon, van, and, thanks to Boulevard, truck versions, as well as, a still mini 1:1 scale! Glad to see it getting some love, Brad!
That’s awesome, Travis!
Still hoping for a RLC version of the mini.. One day
You and me both!
Ooh maybe a RLC version of the Monte Carlo rally winner!
Cool feature Brad , thank you . I really miss being able to go shopping , and perhaps find a couple of delectable collectables . However I now have a dear friend ‘E-type’ who gets them for me , and yes , joy, he sent me one a couple of days back . Lovely little diecast model . Phil has captured the presence of the real 1:1 well . Cheers from UK , Pete
