Everyone’s favorite promotional vehicle is back in Hot Wheels form — and now it’s even more whimsical than ever. The #Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Monster Truck hit the pegs a couple weeks ago as part of the #Hot Wheels Monster Trucks line, and it has collectors that obeyed local stay-at-home orders playing ketchup.
It’s outrageous. It’s Funny. It’s just what the line needed. A #Monster Truck version of the beloved Wienermobile is clearly absurd. The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is as iconic as a 1:1 promotional vehicle gets. At one point, a whole fleet of them existed. If you saw one on the road, you couldn’t help but smile. Bringing it to the #Hot Wheels Monster Trucks line made this collector smile as the very nature of an absurd vehicle with a long-time following might just be what the line needs to pique collector interest.
The original Hot Wheels Oscar Mayer Wienermobile casting existed in the Hot Wheels basics — and as a promo vehicle — for years. After being released in 1993, it was repeatedly released in varying levels of the same color scheme. The lone exception came in 1996 when a chrome variant was released as part of the Silver Series II.
The #Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Monster Truck gets an updated look in comparison to the 1993 casting. Most notably are the windows which reflect the design of the Wienermobiles that out the racing around today. In addition to that, the fenderless-base of the casting has “bites” taken out of the bun for the wheel wells — a very charming, added characteristic to this #Monster Truck. The “ketchup & mustard spray” on the top of the “bun” and on the “wiener” only adds to the fun this truck brings.
Currently, there hasn’t been a ton of reports of these being found, but they are out there. Check your local stores for new #Hot Wheels Monster Trucks products if you are in search of it. This is just one of many cool #Monster Trucks that are coming out so keep an eye out for those as well.
