Christmas is only four days away and Hot Wheels has made sure to include Santa’s latest whip in the #2018 Hot Wheels “C” case — the #Screamliner — which started hitting retail in the U.S. earlier this month. Originally designed by Larry Wood, the Screamliner is art deco with attitude. As you can imagine, with a name like “Screamliner” it was already used in a Halloween series, but with this casting, it also makes the perfect “sleigh” for the jolly guy in red.

As with anything art deco, the lines on the Hot Wheels #Screamliner are amazing as the car just flows, almost giving the impression that it is floating — once again, the perfect ride for a guy that flies around in a sleigh being pulled by flying reindeer. Santa’s face does grace both doors on the sides of this release and the snow spray on the fenders is a great touch. The door logo does state “2017” because this car is meant for Christmas 2017, even though its a #2018 Hot Wheels release.

As for the Hot Wheels #Screamliner, this is the latest release of the casting that made its debut in the 2014 mainline. In addition to the 2015 Halloween release, the casting has only been released in the mainline (2014) and as part of the 2015 Flashfire 5-Pack. This release comes three years after its last release and definitely is my favorite of the small family so far. Look for this one at retail now.
