Monster Duo: ANGLIA PANEL TRUCK

As a Hot Wheels collector who is budget savvy, I love hunting older releases online. Often collectors completely dismiss some cool pieces that are several years old in favor of adding the latest Treasure Hunts to their collection. With almost 50 years of Hot Wheels vehicles, I can guarantee there are cool Hot Wheels pieces you have just forgot about, or came out before you started collecting; that aren’t in your collection. This happens to me all the time, especially when you change your collecting habits over the years. As someone who now loves to collect loose Hot Wheels — not the big, bulky blister card packaging — I have recently added this #Anglia Panel Truck to my collection.

Hot Wheels Anglia Panel Truck from the 2010 Monster Duo 2-Pack featuring a Monster Jam Grave Digger paint scheme … rear shot

It was part of the Monster Duo 2-Packs which featured a Hot Wheels #Monster Jam monster truck paired with an existing Hot Wheels casting that resembled it. The Hot Wheels car had the same team as the monster truck, which in this case was #Grave Digger. The packaging for the #Monster Duo cars was over-sized and bulky, hence why I never added these to my collection when I was a “cardboard collector”. Also, this car was part of the 2010 Monster Duos which weren’t as easy to find as the 2008 series, as I remember the series being discontinued somewhere in the run.

I never did find this one in the store and buying it in the package off a secondary sales site can be costly due to the over-sized packaging that causes sellers to charge a higher shipping rate — fortunately I did score this one the other day as part of a bulk deal, which averaged out to $2.38-shipped, per car! That is far less than buying the car at retail or in the package on a secondary sales site.

As for the #Anglia Panel Truck casting, well, its one of those castings that tend to sneak into your collection as it has been released with some pretty cool graphics in the past. Its got an #Opening Hood of course, but for me and this release, its those killer #Grave Digger graphics that you won’t find on any other Hot Wheels casting past the Grave Digger Monster Truck itself. Truly a unique release and one that, if it had #Real Riders, probably would rank among my favorites.
