Boulevard Flex: The Liberty Walk LB SUPER SILHOUETTE NISSAN SILVIA (S15) is an early contender for 2024 Hot Wheels premium RELEASE OF THE YEAR!

We may be in late April, but Hot Wheels premium for 2024 just started to hit retail in the United States. We saw the #Liberty Walk #LB Super Silhouette Nissan Silvia (S15) unveiled at the Hot Wheels Convention last fall, and since then, it has climbed to the top of many collectors’ new release want list. Adding fuel to the fire is the fact that #Hot Wheels Boulevard is a #Walmart Exclusive in the U.S. — and a very hot commodity — this one will not be an easy one to find.

Here is why it was atop my want list. First, I love when a mainline car goes premium as it allows you to collect it at both (premium & basic) levels. To add to that, this is a real livery on a real car which I find myself collecting more of thanks to the Hot Wheels team and the passionate car enthusiasts out there. Other brands have released this particular car already — so Hot Wheels isn’t the first to do so — however, since I only collect Hot Wheels, its nice to finally be able to add this real-life, drift machine to my collection.

Since finding at retail doesn’t come easy, I resorted to purchasing a case from 1 Stop Diecast. As I mention in my unboxing video below, Fred from 1 Stop Diecast was able to secure a small allotment from a distributor in Asia. This was extremely helpful and I made sure to share my extra set with a friend.

#Liberty Walk — aftermarket performance brand known for their widebody kits — has been a great addition to the Hot Wheels lineup since the partnership was launched in the 2021 Hot Wheels mainline. Their aero kits translate well to Hot Wheels scale, and the ornate nature of these kits exemplify custom car culture as it relates to the Hot Wheels brand. Since then, the Liberty Walk garage has extended from basics into the premium and #Elite 64 lines.

Two years ago, the #LB Super Silhouette Nissan Silvia (S15) debuted as part of the #2022 New Models in this very deco! Collectors went crazy for it! It was one of the last castings designed by the late, Ryu Asada, and it was great to have a replica of a car that had already been turning heads in Japan and causing clicks all over the web. It was later recolored in yellow, but the star-power here is that fact that the white colorway is the replica here.

Since we do see it now in premium, you can expect several things. First, you have the metal body and metal chassis versus the metal body and plastic chassis on the basic casting. In addition to that, you get #Real Riders wheels AND a full deco which goes beyond simply adding front and rear deco. I’ve heard many YouTubers express their disdain for the “dot matrix” graphics produced by the DIJ (Direct Inkjet) graphic process. Rightfully so, the clarity of the graphics should improve — however — this process allows for a full wrap which you should really take note of when you see the back of these cars below.

Along with the added detail you get in premium, the pricepoint — $6.49 for #Hot Wheels Boulevard in the U.S. — allows for the additional licensing a true replica of this car requires. The addition of the Liqui Moly logos are the most notable here since they are the only red & blue you see in this deco. Those colors alone would require at least two more tampo passes in the mainline, but with DIJ, they can be included as part of the 4-color process (CMYK).

Surprisingly enough, we actually saw the premium version of this deco last year on the #LB-Silhouette WORKS GT Nissan 35GT-RR VER.2 in #Team Transport. At the time, collectors figured it was only a matter of time before we saw the Silvia. Now, we have almost a “Then and Now” pair despite one being a GT-R and the other a Silvia.

What really set this #Team Transport set apart was the fact that we got the new Flipsider Hauler casting with this LBWK lightning bolt deco — allowing collectors to start a new race team collection. The actual hauler casting doesn’t allow for two vehicles on the inside but the gull-wing doors make it cool in it’s own regard.

As for this #2024 Hot Wheels #Boulevard #LB Super Silhouette Nissan Silvia (S15)… it could and should be in contention for the best Hot Wheels premium release of the year. However, with the recent sneak peeks shown at Nationals, winning that category will not be easy this year.

It’s cars like this that have me strongly considering figuring out a way to build a track of sorts to display all these great replica #Race Cars that have been coming out. Granted, if I built said track, I don’t think I could stop at one since there are so many eras and styles of race cars that Hot Wheels makes now. Wouldn’t it be fun to own a giant warehouse to house your collection? That is what dreams are made of for collectors like you and me. I doubt it would ever happen but this car has me dreaming! Good luck to you in finding it if you haven’t already. Happy hunting!

  1. LOL brad, sorry.. but for me it aint even in the ball park. not when there is an 86 Thunderbird in that hunt

the boulevards first release of it coming in later this year, with real riders, and in it’s original all metal configuration.

as nice as that nissan is, it falls victim to the JDM over load. and becomes just another tuner in a huge stack of nissan tuners. no offence to you or any others that are crazy for them. but theres a lot of premium releases this year.. and this is just a mid level contender. when you put it up against the rest. and the year is only mid way through.

    TAZ

    • Everyone has their own preference. I am speaking in terms of the masses. That new 86 Thunderbird is nice… wish it had different wheels though.

      • yah, I might be a lil bias …owning an 86 e’lan, 😉 . the racing 5 slots would be great wheel choice, in an 80’s racing livery. maybe next time?

  2. hey brad, if your just looking to build a display track.. you might try looking into the old style slot car tracks.

they had guard rails and advertisement barriers, just like the real tracks do.

I almost bought a box of old slot track just for that reason. but the guy was asking way too much for it.

      • depends on how nice you want your display to look, like with anything ,what you get, is what your willing to pay for.

but like hot wheels the cars are where the value is placed, a lot of track just got thrown out as the tabs got broke collectors will some times sell the extra track reasonably, just so they dont have to store it, especially with out the original box. Taz

    • I like it but it just looks to similar to the mainline. I think the new civic type r FL5 beats this by miles. To each their own though.

  3. I don’t know, personally I think just being a mainline with a metal base excludes a casting from being “best premium casting of the year”, but that’s just me.

    • Casting is good, but yes, designed originally for mainline. Still, this is definitely a contender for RELEASE of the year. For CASTING of the year, I would go with a new model that has an exquisite tooling. There are a few upcoming that will definitely be contenders.
