Character Cars / Toy Story: DUCKY AND BUNNY

So this is cool! Every-so-often the Hot Wheels #Character Cars line drops a gem on us and this is definitely one of them. This new, #First Edition casting of #Ducky and Bunny features two of the new characters from the upcoming Toy Story 4 (2019) movie. This single casting, features two bodies, and two bases — this has to be a first for Hot Wheels!

Before we get into how the Hot Wheels #Ducky and Bunny casting is assembled, lets take a look at the design. Overall, we have what looks to be a small vending truck (Bunny) pulling something that resembles a teardrop camping trailer (Ducky) — its like getting two vehicles for one price. Can you imagine how popular this concept would be in a premium/collector line with realistic vehicles???

As I mentioned above, #Ducky and Bunny is one casting with two bodies/bases, and six wheels. Below you can see that this is in fact, one casting — share the same tool number (GCY60) — as the trailer’s base is affixed to what looks to be the rear rivet of the vehicle.

It should make sense that the vehicle is a vending truck hauling a teardrop trailer. From what I know of the characters, they are “carnival prizes” in the movie and this vehicle would make sense in that setting. My favorite part is that the “ears” on the truck give the look as though the vending portion of the truck is open for slinging food or for playing a game. Hot Wheels Designer, Bryan Benedict absolutely nailed this design.

If we know one thing about Hot Wheels #Character Cars, its that some of the more, single-movie characters tend to only get one release, so this may be the first and last time we see this awesome #Ducky and Bunny casting. Its one that I will be looking to see how many customizers grab for customs, as well. I can see many wanting it for the trailer alone as Hot Wheels has never really done a trailer per se… whereas Matchbox has.

Ultimately, I am just glad I was able to find this one as it was one #Character Car that I had to have. I knew it after laying eyes on it, and am actually surprised there isn’t a higher demand for it. Look for it at retail now… and don’t be surprised if #Ducky and Bunny is one of those Character Cars that ends up being highly sought after in a couple years.
