A couple weeks ago when we showcased the HW Digital Circuit: Tour de Fast, we mentioned how there are now #Chase cars in the mainline past the usual #Treasure Hunts. We also mentioned that these new “chase” cars appear to be limited to the #HW Digital Circuit (2017) series. That thought is panning out as the #2017 Hot Wheels mainline “K” case assortments have a chase variant of the #Blade Raider (in green). Strangely enough, the case assortments also contain the regular Treasure Hunts variant of the Blade Raider (in red), meaning the standard/numbered variant is yet to come.
The #Blade Raider was introduced late last year as a #2016 New Model. While that original variant wore white with abstract archery graphics as part of the HW Games series, the new #HW Digital Circuit releases are wearing a more, off-road, rally-esque graphic scheme. Donning the #17 for what one could assume is because of the year, this release is another #Unlicensed Hot Wheels #Car featuring names of Mattel Employees in the form of “sponsor logos”.
Both variants of the #Blade Raider are hitting stores now so make sure to look for them as you’re rummaging through your “K” case finds at the pegs. Since the red colorway is the regular #Treasure Hunt, you’ll notice the addition of the #Flame Logo (TH) on the sides of the rear spoiler. If you’re grabbing these two variants of the Blade Raider, make sure to keep an eye out for the standard/numbered variant that is due out later this year.
