2014 RLC sELECTIONs Custom AMX Ships!
For more than 2 YEARS the 2014 RLC sELECTIONs Custom AMX has been on backorder — a record by far! Well, I am pleased to say that this car has finally shipped out to the RLC members that ordered it. I have heard several complaints about the rear wheel being pushed up into the back of the car and the lightness of the Spectraflame Pink paint. The wheel is caused by the form fitted bubble on the blister. Those that have opened this release have reported that the wheel looks fine out of the package. The lightness in the spectaflame pink? Well, it was intended to be that light as Steve Vandervate (HWC Van), who was the graphic designer of this release, said that it was done in essence of the playmate edition AMX from back in the day. It should be noted that he said this long before the light pink spectraflame issue even came up.
17th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Nationals Convention
Just last week we had the first preview of the first souvenir car, the Blown Delivery. This week, we were greeted with another sneak peek by the folks over at Collectors Events Unlimited — the people who put on the Hot Wheels conventions. They shared with us the TEXAS DRIVE ‘EM, which oddly enough, was used at the last convention in October. Make no mistake though, as this one will be wearing bright orange paint and flames.
Air-Cooled starts appearing at Target
Hot Wheels collectors love the #Car Culture line. So many collectors were sad to hear that the next series, #Air-Cooled, wasn’t suppose to hit stores in the U.S. until March. Well, scratch that as the Air-Cooled series hit Target stores this week with the bulk of collectors finding them yesterday (Friday) — myself included.
Looney Tunes Character Cars hit stores in U.S.
Great news for all you #Hot Wheels Character Cars fans out there! Our resident Character Car hunter, @tpcallo has found the next batch of Looney Tunes character cars. While TRU had the early release of Daffy Duck in November, the other five are brand-new! They include: Bugs Bunny, Tasmanian Devil, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote and Marvin the Martian.
