It was announced that Target stores would be getting the #Car Culture / HW Redliners series two weeks earlier than other retailers, and that the #Car Culture line will only be sold in-stores for now — not online. Two of the remaining series for the 2017 Car Culture line will also be early releases at Target. This comes in addition to the news that Target will be receiving an exclusive mainline series of 12 vehicles known as the “Red Edition”.
Hot Wheels & Target sure kept their word as they executed the early release part flawlessly with the HW Redliners hitting in droves nationwide. While the #’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser may be the hot car in the series with it already commanding a price of $10+ on the secondary market, the car I was most excited about was the #’70 Dodge Charger R/T.

Hot Wheels ’70 Dodge Charger R/T from the 2017 Car Culture / HW Redliners series featuring graphics by the Urban Outlaw, Magnus Walker (in package)
Beginning early last year, the #Magnus Walker / Hot Wheels partnership came into fruition with the release of the 2016 New Model, Porsche 356A, appearing in the mainline. Since then, we have seen several other #Porsche castings receive Magnus’s brand, #Urban Outlaw, in their graphics schemes. Now, the Urban Outlaw himself, took a shot at designing the graphics for an American #Muscle Car in the ’70 Dodge Charger R/T. Personally, I love it! It looks nothing like any #Charger we’ve seen before and doesn’t borrow anything from the Porsche designs. While its not entirely clear as to why Magnus decided to bring this Charger into the fold when he already has a stable of Porsche design, one thing is for sure though — this design works as much as it stands out.
