10-4 good buddy! Its National Truckers Day in the United States so we are showcasing one of our favorite Hot Wheels #Semi Trucks — the #Long Gone. Since the Long Gone was retooled in 2012 [formerly the Long Shot], every release of it has sold out quickly whether it was at retail or sold online. Its easy to see why as every release of it has been killer! From premium retail releases to #RLC and #Convention releases, there have been some high-end releases and they are all pretty cool, but its this Hot Tamales one, from the #Pop Culture #Just Born series that is actually the favorite.

No disrespect to the RLC sElections release or even the 16th Annual Hot Wheels Nationals Convention Finale release, but the spicy metalflake dark red body with matte black accents give this rig a pretty sinister look. Heck, the only thing this release is missing is a matching Hot Tamales trailer. As with just about every #Semi Truck, they tend to look better with thicker #Real Riders — which this one definitely has.

This #Pop Culture #Just Born series release of the Hot Wheels #Long Gone ended up being a little tricky to find if you didn’t know where to look. Sure, the big box stores such as Walmart got the Just Born series but it did seem limited as it was the grocery stores that ordered the bulk of this series. Released in the spring of 2014, the grocery shippers contained Easter artwork as this 6-car series contained two vehicles with Hot Tamales graphics, two with Mike & Ike graphics and the remaining two featured the Easter-time candy of choice, Peeps. Below you can see a list of the other cars included in this Just Born segment of the Hot Wheels #Pop Culture line.

So as we hit the road, en route to the 30th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Convention in Los Angeles this week, we bend that elbow and give a big tug of our imaginary rope that sounds the horn of our big rig as we salute the teamsters that keep life moving, and of course, get to drive rigs similar to the Long Gone for a living!
