Merry Christmas!!! Hot Wheels Red Line Club (RLC) members should have gotten their “gift” in time for Christmas as the 2018 #RLC Holiday Car #Texas Drive ‘Em that sold December 4th on HotWheelsCollectors.com (HWC), shipped out in time for collectors to put it under the tree. However, many have already ripped these open in hopes of pairing with other Hot Wheels #Christmas releases from years past.
The unique thing about the 2018 #RLC Holiday Car #Texas Drive ‘Em is that the dirt bikes the truck traditionally carries are gone in favor of a more lively payload: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Yes, the casting was re-tooled just for this release to feature a plastic pile of snow in the bed that holds this tiny reindeer — a reindeer piece that had previously been exclusive to the Hot Wheels Advent Calendars. This reindeer however, features painted-on details which includes eyes and Rudolph’s signature orangish-red nose.

Size-wise, Rudolph sits quite high in the bed of the #Texas Drive ‘Em, BUT looks to scale for the most part. His hooves pinch under four openings in the snow pile, however the fit is a little loose. If getting Rudolph air-born is your plan, feel free to send the truck down a vertical drop with a ramp at the end and Rudolph should fly right out! 😉

As a fan of the #RLC Holiday Cars, I think its ultra-cool that the Hot Wheels Design Team made this happen. I touched upon it slightly in my Christmas car video, that the #Christmas vehicles from Hot Wheels always seem to have a little extra to them — even some having tiny “gifts” in some cases — with extra surfboards, motorcycles, snowmobiles and now reindeer in tow.

The body of this 2018 #RLC Holiday Car #Texas Drive ‘Em may look very #Spectraflame Paint in nature, however spectraflame it is not. Rather, this TDE is painted with what the design team calls a “double ransburg red” paint, giving it a very shiny, yet icy look to it — perfect for a holiday truck with snow in its bed.

Big thanks to the Hot Wheels Design Team for producing such an awesome piece for this year’s #RLC Holiday Car. They could have easily slapped a #Christmas deco on the existing #Texas Drive ‘Em tool, but this release now proves to be unique in a multitude of ways. Its a terrific “holiday” release and its one that will sit proudly in the collection for years to come! Merry Christmas!
