12/6/2018 — You’ve heard the “I just went to Walmart for bread and toilet paper” stories of collectors who went to the store for something other than Hot Wheels, and yielding some amazing finds. Well, you can chalk this one up as a “dumb luck” find as I wondered into my local Walmart here in Phoenix and had quite an amazing find — after going there initially for bottled water and some batteries for my kids’ toys.
After I got home, I realized these “Red Seasonal Dump Bin Displays” are hitting at tons of Walmarts across the U.S. tonight. In them are a mix of #2019 Hot Wheels “A” & “B” case assortment cars.
These are hitting now, so get out there and hunt! If you’re lucky enough to find a display that yields a Super #Treasure Hunt — like I was — congrats! I was pretty stoked to find one (yes, only one) in this large display of several cases. I also took home the other cars you see below which include: “B” Case Regular Treasure Hunt #Sting Rod, the Greetings from Space: ’08 Tesla Roadster and the 2018 Holiday Cars #Carbonator. As you can tell by the blurriness of the photo, I was pretty excited to find the elusive “J-Liu Leprechaun Skyline”.
UPDATED 12/7/2018 — One more thing! These typically aren’t being found in the toy section so the key here is be vigilant at your local Walmart and check the aisles. This display I found was located between hardware and housewares. I’ve seen others finding these by lawn & garden or by the front registers. Its anyone’s guess where Walmart will put these out.
