10/1/2018 — For the last several years, the Hot Wheels has teamed up with the HW Mexico Collectors Convention organizers to produce a limited edition Hot Wheels car. Last year it was the ’71 Datsun Bluebird 510 Wagon in acrylic case (also available for convention in Brazil), the year before that it was the ’66 Batmobile. The fact of the matter is, the casting selection has just about always been great with other years choices to the likes of the Texas Drive ‘Em, Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and ’55 Chevy Panel.
This year, the convention takes place December 8-9, 2018 in Mexico City. The exclusive vehicle will be the Volkswagen Beetle in white, with red fenders and green/red graphics. While I don’t have a picture of it to share, you can go to the convention’s web page and view/pre-order it now. It is priced at $25.00 (+$5.99 shipping) for buyers in the United States. As someone new to HW collecting, would it be worth it to purchase one and re-sell later? Not sure if they are a sought after item?
You’ll always hear me say, “buy what YOU like, don’t worry about future resale value” … thats the way I collect. Not telling you that I am right… just saying, its helped me enjoy this hobby for over 20 years.

Hello, I just have a question Brad. when you pre-order these does it take the money at the time of purchase or does it not deduct it from your bank account until it’s been shipped? Just something I was curious about. (Love the website btw it’s been very informative since I stumbled upon it a few months back 😉 )

Mid December, after the Mexico Convention
Hello there! Tell me, please, do they deliver orders all over the world? And what if they ship only to the USA, but I already paid for the order?

There was a sign that said it. Only 500 sold online to US buyers…. confirmed with the event organizer in LA.
