7/19/2018 — With San Diego Comic Con in full swing, a handful of Hot Wheels reveals were shown in a Facebook Live Video featuring Matt Brutocao from Hot Wheels Marketing. In the video, Matt showed what is possibly the biggest surprise thus far as Hot Wheels will be teaming up with Nintendo (once again) to do a line of Hot Wheels branded Mario Kart vehicles. These will be orange track compatible and will even have their own designated track sets — no word yet on the banana peels and red shells. These vehicles are set to retail at $4.99 and will be available in June 2019. The only negative is that we will have to wait that long!

Mario Kart is one of the most popular racing franchises of all time spanning 25 years with a rich history of games. If early indication gives you anything, these will be a hit with kids AND adults — as the traditional Hot Wheels collectors are shaking their heads. The first segment of this line will feature the eight characters (and their karts) you see below: Rosalina, Wario, Yoshi, Toad, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser and Mario. Now we wait…
