Flurry of Hot Wheels Character Cars SNEAK PEEKS at New York Toy Fair

02/18/2018 — Hot Wheels was at New York Toy Fair this weekend and released a flurry of sneak peeks in the Hot Wheels #Character Cars line amid showing off their #2018 Hot Wheels specialty lines. Some of the newest series from #Pop Culture, #Replica Entertainment and retail-specific Specialty Series were there — some of which have started hitting retail already. The largest surprise however, is that Hot Wheels will have two new Character Cars licenses in Disney and Jurassic World.

For Hot Wheels and Disney, I can already tell that these cars will drive parents nuts. My 3-year-old daughter is going to go bonkers once she learns there are Mickey Mouse and Elsa (Frozen) cars, while other Disney fanatics will certainly enjoy the Winnie the Pooh Honey (Cement) Truck, Maleficent, Jack Skellington (Nightmare Before Christmas) and Mike Wazowski (Monsters Inc.).

For Hot Wheels and Jurassic World, it bring together two of my favorite childhood toys: dinosaurs and cars. With a release date of late spring 2018, this segment of Jurassic World Character Cars has five dinosaurs imagined as vehicles: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Mosasaurus and Velociraptor.

For all the other Hot Wheels Specialty Series in this video, check out our List of 2018 Specialty Series to see what cars are included and where they will be (or are already) showing up.

  1. Glad the Spider-mobile is coming to the masses. Looks like you get to add another Night Shifter to your collection. This video was better than the FB live video Hot Wheels did.

    • Yeah, the Spider-Mobile looks to be very close to the SDCC one. Its a cool car, glad it will be available at retail. Oh, and yes, I am very excited to add that Night Shifter!
