Hot Wheels Halloween: ’71 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE

Trick or treat Hot Wheels collectors. Chances are, if you’ve not found the #Hot Wheels Halloween (2017) series — or maybe found an incomplete set — you may consider yourself in the “trick” category. If you have found the complete set, namely this #’71 Plymouth Satellite, you already know that you were in for a treat.

First off, what a great release! Hot Wheels #Station Wagons always look good dressed up for #Halloween and this #’71 Plymouth Satellite is no different. The metalflake gold paint with “MUMMY MOTORS” graphics are nicely done, and those blood red windows top off the look. Just like the other seven vehicles in the #Hot Wheels Halloween (2017) series, this one wears the brand-new #Skull Wheels, made just for this series. But the real “treat” is that collectors were treated to another metal body/base vehicle for a $1.

The metal body/base combo is getting harder and harder to find at the Hot Wheels basic level ($1 price-point). While the mainline seems to no longer have any metal/metal vehicles, several were found in the #2017 Hot Wheels themed assortments — such as this #Halloween #’71 Plymouth Satellite.

All five release of the #Brendon Vetuskey Designed, Hot Wheels #’71 Plymouth Satellite casting have featured this metal/metal combo. The first release of this casting was in the 2013 Retro Entertainment line, as a replica of The Brady Bunch station wagon whereas the next several releases went: 2014 Pop Culture (Looney Tunes), 2015 Heritage (Real Riders), 2016 Stars & Stripes, and now this #Hot Wheels Halloween (2017) series release.

If you haven’t found this #Plymouth yet, your time may be running out as it seems the Walgreens and Kroger brand stores that got these in didn’t get much past the initial shipment that arrived way back in late August, early September. Still, your luck isn’t entirely out as collectors are still reporting finding these, so Happy Halloween & Happy Hunting!
