Hot Wheels 2026 Car Culture / Road Trip “V” CASE REPORT

Hot Wheels Car Culture for 2026 has been phenomenal. We’ve seen popular, old series return. We even saw an extinct line return. This mix, and the last have been new series. Granted, both are new looks at previous ones, but still… In the case of Road Trip — which seemingly replaced the yearly “off-road” mix — we still get a few off-road vehicles. These are coupled with some serious wagons ready to tour some scenic surroundings. The name “Road Trip” is as wide open as the name implies, and I’m really hoping this series comes back at some point. The artwork is fantastic. I might even go as far as to say that it’s been my favorite this year!

0/5 – ’18 Toyota 4Runner

The ’18 Toyota 4Runner started as a cult favorite. Designer after the personal vehicle of Hot Wheels Design Director, Jimmy Liu, the 4Runner was first released in Boulevard in 2021. That mix (2021 mix 4, #36-40) was extremely hard to come by in the United States. The scarcity, coupled with a well-executed casting, drove prices up, and created an instant classic. The casting would later be released in Car Culture and Team Transport — along with a couple carry forwards of that white Boulevard release. None of those carried the hype anywhere close to what that first Boulevard release brought. It’s because of that release that we are seeing this one be featured as the satin gold 10th anniversary chase in this mix.

1/5 – Land Rover S2

There is the Land Rover S2 and then there is the Land Rover Series II. I can appreciate the custom nature of the mainline casting, but this premium version of the Series II Land Rover is really nice. This is a brand-new casting that features a removable top. Once removed, you can clearly see the dog sitting in the passenger seat.

2/5 – Subaru Legacy GT (BP)

New casting alert! The other new casting in Road Trip is the Subaru Legacy GT (BP). This comes from the family of Mattel employee cars, as the 1:1 belongs to Hot Wheels Project Manager, Antonio Gaido. With metalflake blue paint and gold rims, you can’t go wrong with this as the first release of any Subaru.

3/5 – ’93 Mercedes-Benz G-Class

A great premium casting is the ’93 Mercedes-Benz G-Class. It’s not played out and it still has the removable top. This is it’s second Car Culture release.

4/5 – ’64 Chevy Nova Station Wagon

The ’64 Chevy Nova Station Wagon is back in Car Culture. However, this marks the first time the non-paneled version of the casting has appeared in premium. The casting has been around since 2013.

5/5 – ’24 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

The 4Runner isn’t the only TRD Pro in this mix. The ’24 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro makes it’s way into Car Culture for it’s third release. After debuting in Boulevard last year, it was a surprise Collectors Nationals souvenir car earlier this year. This third release in red is the latest model year vehicle in this mix. Hop on the Interstate, or your local highway, and you might see this one Road Trippin’ in your neck of the woods.
