So much to unload here. This is the 5th iteration of Japan Historics as well as the 10th Anniversary of Hot Wheels #Car Culture — a feat no Hot Wheels premium line has ever achieved. Oh, and to top it off, there is a new Car Culture #Chase structure for 2026. Let’s dig into that first.
Gold is the new black as #Car Culture chase vehicles will no longer be all-black versions of a vehicle in that mix. Rather, these chase pieces will be an additional sixth casting, done only in this satin gold paint scheme which features the 10th Anniversary of Car Culture logo. The speculation is that these gold chase pieces will be some of the most popular castings to ever be released in Car Culture — a hit list of sorts.
Since we are on the subject, the #Datsun 510 Wagon gets the distinguished honor of being the first-ever Car Culture gold chase. The satin gold pain on this car is insane. Check out the unboxing video below to have more of a “real-time” look at it. I’m not sure how I feel about the 10th anniversary logo on the doors, but that doesn’t matter as it won’t stop collectors from grabbing as many as they can at retail.
The #Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R LBWK may not be as “historic” as the other vehicles in this mix, but damn, does this one impress! The metalflake blue paint on this one is something to behold — especially when paired with the dark gold #Real Riders 8-Spoke Wheels.
Fans of the Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno will certainly argue it’s place at the top of the list of Japan Historics greats. Sure, we could have easily gotten another white or silver version of this car, but instead, we get this extremely underrated version in a burnt orange.
New casting alert! The only new blood in this mix is the ’77 Toyota Celica. I’m not sure if all cases containing the Datsun 510 Wagon chase are like this, but as is the case with mine, it comes only 1 per case. I know very little about the ’77 Celica other than those Mustang-looking tailights give it the nickname, the “Japanese Mustang”.
Just like the 510 Wagon, the #Datsun 620 was also a casting that appeared in #Car Culture year one (2016). That Trucks series release was certainly sub-par. This beige JH5 release makes up for it — 10 years later.
Lastly, the ’88 Honda CRX brings us into “neo-historic” territory as the car doesn’t feel that old. Nearly 40 years later though, there is no arguing the historic nature of this car. This release in silver is clean, and those #Real Riders Aero Wheels give it a modern look.
I unboxed one of these 10-count cases on the OTD YouTube Channel, and have a full #Case Report for you here. 1 Stop Diecast may be sold out but you can use the link below to order (or pre-order) other Car Culture cases.

Hot Wheels #Car Culture cases (FPY86) contain only 10 vehicles, unlike Hot Wheels basics cases which have 72. In this mix, you are guaranteed to get all 5 cars in the series. There are two variants of the case — with or without chase piece. In a standard case (without chase) you will get two of each vehicle. In a case with a chase, you will have the chase piece inserted for the second piece of its casting counterpart.
Below you’ll find the case list — all of which are seen in this video above and in the images below.
