The #Fast & Furious / Racing Course mix from the Hot Wheels Silver Series is one of the best to date! It features two, brand-new castings of classic cars from the first movie: Hector’s Honda Civic EG and Edwin’s ’96 Acura Integra GSR. Among those, we get the Silver Series versions of the ’66 Chevy Nova, Datsun 240Z Custom, and Bugatti Veyron. Let’s take a quick look at this 5-car series.
Two of the most requested Hot Wheels Fast & Furious cars have been Hector’s Honda Civic EG and Edwin’s ’96 Acura Integra GSR. Mattel has finally obliged. These are brand-new Hot Wheels castings designed after the actual cars in The Fast and the Furious (2001). There is one complication, however. They don’t feature the sponsors. Hector’s Honda Civic EG had “D2 Technik” on the sides and Edwin’s ’96 Acura Integra GSR had “Polk Audio MOMO” on the sides. These Hot Wheels releases are essentially “clean” versions of those cars. From what I could find out, Hot Wheels does not have these licenses to those brands — yes, even #MOMO whom they’ve work with in the past. Monicaaaaaaaahhhhhh!
The cool thing about this series is that is brings back two of the hardest Fast & Furious vehicles to track down: the — shall I say “canceled” — Fast & Furious Series 3 (2023) Datsun 240Z Custom and the Bugatti Veyron. Both of these castings debuted in that series that was definitely in short-supply. I had to order a set from overseas as it never seemed to show up locally. The Datsun 240Z Custom hadn’t been used since as this is only the second release of it. The Bugatti Veyron is the third Veyron casting that Hot Wheels has produced. It has been used since in Silver Series Transformers and Car Culture / Hammer Drop. Both of these feature new wheels in Racing Course (compared to their F&F Series 3 counterparts) as Silver Series and it’s wheel sets were established in 2024.
The ’66 Chevy Nova had been produced before but only in premium. Compared to that release, this one was a little bit of a let-down. On this release, we get a gray, plastic base, whereas the premium one looked much more realistic with an unfinished, metal one. Still, a great release that looks nice.
I was able to buy a case of the #Walmart Exclusive, #Fast & Furious Silver Series / Racing Course (mix K) off of eBay for a decent price. I did so primarily because I wanted to share the case breakdown in the event that these cases are not even assortments. I also did it because finding a whole set of Silver Series in-store has not been easy for me, and this set is going to be especially hard to find! I unboxed one of these 10-count cases on the OTD YouTube Channel within the full #Case Report that you see here.
