An open letter to OTD supporters on the site’s 5th Anniversary

June 2, 2020

Dear OTD supporters,

The world we live in is in a state of chaos. I am choosing to write to you today as the friendly guy that you have (hopefully) come to love as I focus on the daily joys of Hot Wheels collecting. When I created Orange Track Diecast back on this date in 2015, my intentions were pure. They were to create a site that ignored the outside noise and to become a place for all Hot Wheels fanatics to come to. While blocking outside noise hasn’t always been possible, I feel like my message has been clear over the years. If it hasn’t, I want it to be clear now: I will not tolerate hate on any level. We will come together as people of this Earth and celebrate our love for this shared hobby.

For the most part, I believe we have succeeded in making this site a great place to hang out. I hope you enjoy reading the articles about the cars we love, and even the news that I can occasionally provide. For those of you that have become positive contributors in the comments of the articles, I thank you. It has been my pleasure to have you as a guest on my site. I enjoy your feedback and that has the most rewarding aspect of the last 5 years. For those that have supported me personally, it means the world to me that you have done so.

I will continue to produce Hot Wheels content so long as you’re here to read it. Doing so hasn’t always been easy — especially now — but I know that some of you actually look forward to waking up and seeing something new on the site. I know I enjoy waking up to see the interaction. So, keep the comments and information coming, and feel free to reach out to me (brad@orangetrackdiecast.com) if there is something I can improve upon. It’s my mission to make collecting a little bit easier for you so you can take more time to enjoy the things in your life.

We are all brothers and sisters of this world, much like we are in this hobby. We should pick each other up when we are down, treat each other with respect, and continue to fight the good fight together. Stay safe and stay strong.

To Peace, Love, Happiness & Health!

Your collector friend,
Brad Bannach

  1. Brad you have a top notch site and your a top notch guy. Thanks for all you do. I check your site daily and for me that says a lot. It’s a crazy world out there and your site breaks down life problems
by getting away from reality of the world. Keep doing what you’re brother

  2. Thanks for all you do. The info and content is awesome, I look forward to each and every post. Keep it going….HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

  4. Please keep up the great reviews and articles on your site. It’s great to to see all this Hot Wheels content, and it is a welcome distraction during these times. I definitely don’t ignore what’s going on, but it’s nice to get a break once in a while and read about something I really enjoy. Thank you Brad!

  5. Thank you, Brad for creating this site, because, I really enjoy it, and I love submitting comments, as well.

  6. Thanks BRAD for all your great articles and keeping it real.I am one of your biggest followers here and on the HWC/RLC SITE. Congrats on your 5th year Anniversary . Looking forward to reading more of your great articles.
    🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

  7. First and foremost, thank you Brad for 5 years of awesome, cool, informative and entertaining material. Keep it up and know that it’s appreciated and is a welcomed slice of normalcy for us readers all over the country and those overseas. You are so right about this being a little escape for us as collectors, to read, chat and come together through this classic hobby. I too am wishing everyone, health, peace and well being. The small percent out there that choose chaos and negativity will never triumph against all of us that stand United for what is good and equal. Cheers!

  8. Brad, Well said and I hope I speak for all collector when I say we really appreciate you and your good works..

To me people are a lot like Hot Wheels. All different colors, some flashy, some not, some sleek, some square, some sexy, some normal, some ugly, some racy, some slow and utilitarian, some exotic and even one of a kind, some to carry other away on their backs, some scraped, bent, broken, or neglected in need of repair or a new home.

If our goal is to be considered a STH we need to treat everyone we encounter like they already are a Super!

    Thanks again Brad

  9. Thank you Brad, let’s reach another 5 years more!
By the way, I’m the collector behind “Small Car List”. If you don’t know me, just take a look to my social networks or blog. I post 1 new car every day from my collection of +2.000 (at this moment) diecast cars.
Again, thank you Brad for Orange Track Diecast and congratulations! 🙂

  10. Congratulations on 5 years. You have a great site and articles. Keep up the good work. OTD is one of my almost daily stops on the internet.

  11. I’m kind of new to OTD, but I have learned a lot and very much appreciate Brad and his style of running the show. I’ve been a collector since the 80’s, but not into the expensive stuff , could not justify it with a growing family. Main lines and an occasional premium. I digress. I came here tonight for some solace from this week’s continual disturbing news and was met with a great letter from Brad addressing issues and re-emphasizing his mission statement for this site. Right now it is my only HW site cuz the other sites I can’t seem to get into. Than you, Brad.

  12. I really enjoy your blog, Mr. Bannach – I check in often. I do find this hobby to be therapeutic, and this blog is a lovely little oasis to that effect. I’m a grown man who never shook the 1/64 habit. I love being able to share my affinity for both cars and diecast, with others. Thank you for your continued efforts, and all the excellent content. I share an appreciation for the non-licensed models Mattel delivers – as I’m sure their creators do. It’s quite refreshing to see originality, whimsy and fun haven’t left the sport.

Happy anniversary and God Bless America!

  13. Happy 5th my friend & thanks for all your effort to provide more material for us addicted collector hoarders to salivate from!

  14. Great words! the world needs more people like you and im here to support you and every word of this article!!! Keep forward! 😀

  15. I cannot fathom what kind of hateful things somebody would say on a site such as this. These are after all, toys! Toys bring joy and inspire the imagination. One of the only things that brings that 10 year old out is Hot Wheels! Most people I know think it is a silly aberration or an eccentricity. After all, at 53 I am the only 64 scale hobbyist that I personally know. I appreciate that your articles are well researched and excellently written – by a fellow enthusiast. Thank you for your hard work and diligence!

    Dave

  16. Hi Brad,

I really appreciate your site and top notch content. The love for the cars really shows.

Keep up the good work! 🙂
