10/28/2018 — I was walking through my local Safeway store here in Phoenix when my daughter shouts, “Hey Dad, its an Elsa Hot Wheels car!” … I turn around and she has the Elsa #Character Car in-hand already, as she had spotted a whole display of Disney Character Cars. I had walked right past it. I had not expected to see these at retail as I had not seen anyone else find these yet — let alone at my local Safeway store which constantly carries old stock.
My 4-year-old daughter was enamored with Elsa, Mickey Mouse, Maleficent and Mike Wazowski whereas I had gravitated towards Jack Skellington and the Winnie the Pooh “honey [cement] mixer”. Priced at $4.99, I had to exercise a little restraint, and with my daughter — who thinks we can buy anything we want from the store — it was the perfect lesson for her. We each picked out one car: she picked Elsa (no surprise) and I ended up grabbing Jack Skellington to feature this week … with it being Halloween and all.
It sounds like Hot Wheels has plans to release a whole bunch of Disney #Character Cars in 2019 … and with this series just starting, its the perfect time to collect. Which ones will you be grabbing?

At 4.99 won’t be buying any. Jacked up prices just because they are character cars. Should be 1$ at most.
Character cars are not standard 4-piece cars. Many have 6 or more pieces. Your comment about how they should cost $1 is misinformed.
