5/1/2018 — Over the weekend, social media / auto-industry VIP, Aimee Shackelford (@petrolgirl on Instagram) received quite the honorary gift during the Hot Wheels Legends Tour kickoff at the Hot Wheels Design Center. She received a prototype of a brand-new Hot Wheels casting named “HW50”, which we can only assume is Jun Imai’s follow-up to his HW40 casting that he did for the brand’s 40th Anniversary Designer’s Challenge Series.
The HW50 that Aimee received came numbered “5/75” so we can only assume that other VIP at the event received this gift as well. It is worth noting that the “best of show” winner, Mitch Allread (owner/builder of the 1948 Ford F5 Dually Truck), was also seen receiving a similar gift in his prize package. This car has mainline written all over it, so we will have to wait and see where it lands on the 2018 official list.
UPDATE 5/18/2018 — The HW50 will appear in the HW 50th Race Team mainline segment via article posted on HWC.

That new HW50 coming out is awesome. I will be on the hunt for this one and I can’t wait to add it my hotwheels collection.👍
Does anyone know when HW50 will be available for general public to purchase?
It will be in P or Q cases so August or September.
