01/15/2016 — The news from HotWheelsCollectors.com (HWC) today is that HWC and its Red Line Club will be reverting back to the old spectraflame process they used from 2002 until 2012…as quoted by HWC Gary today:
…we’re going back to the original Spectraflame finish beginning with the membership car. Got a few other tricks up the sleeves, too…
Presumably this means that the Mirrorized ZAMAC process that caused the “orange-peel effect” is gone as we will once again see a hand-polished, chrome base under the signature spectraflame paint. This new process is set to take over with the Red Line Club’s 2016 Membership Car — the ’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser.
