9/12/2025 — Hot Wheels and #Transformers continue their collaboration efforts in the release of the second version of #Optimus Prime. This time, it’s not Optimus though — it’s his evil clone, Nemesis Prime! Call it the perfect follow-up to Optimus Prime in 2024. This release features the transforming Hot Wheels casting once again, recolored in black with Decepticons graphics. The packaging is consistent with the first release, as only the art has changed.
Nemesis Prime will sell for $65 on Mattel Creations on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 — $15 less then Optimus Prime in 2024. At a time of rising prices on Mattel Creations, the price drop can only be attributed to the lack of spectraflame paint — which requires additional steps in the manufacturing process, therefore reducing costs.
You can look to add Nemesis Prime to your Hot Wheels and/or #Transformers collection on Tuesday. Specifications are below.

UPDATED 9/16/2025
Nemesis Prime sold out today on the US-based Mattel Creations site in 16 minutes. Many collectors — including myself — experienced a queue error. Upon completing the Captcha, they were allowed into the queue with a “less than a minute” wait time. 11 to 12 minutes later, those collectors were able to complete their purchase before the item sold out at the 16 minute mark.

It has come to my attention, and now yours that mattels limited item sale is only for some (3 for this item). For people such as the scalper slyfo-75 (on ebay, who was dumb enough to send me his purchase page), you are able to purchase 100 in 1 purchase with no limits. So instead of this company honoring the collectors market they prefer you pay double or triple on the secondary. So if you are wondering why you could not get a Nemesis Prime for 65 dollars, please contact Mattel directly and pin these images, it may go no where but sometime bad publicity and a flooding of their customer service and comment section may bring change. Is this really a company you want to support?
