Hot Wheels 2025 Silver Series / Salt Flat Racers “F” CASE REPORT

Hot Wheels #Vintage Racing Club returns for 2025. These assortments (HRT81) are now labelled as simply, “HW VINTAGE ASST” by Mattel as it appears we will see more specific subsets of vintage racing as we see here with #Salt Flat Racers.

Check out the unboxing video I did below. I mention that the card art is the star here — which seems to be the trend with the Hot Wheels Silver Series — following the trend set by Hot Wheels premium lines like #Car Culture. The mix of cars is decent with the ’88 Ford T-Bird, #’41 Willys, and the #’32 Ford, but the unlicensed additions of the Ground FX and Solar Reflex may cause this line to hang at retail — well, at least those two. Honestly, the Ground FX is actually very fitting and the deco on it is top-notch, but the inclusion of the Solar Reflex — while it does fit the series — is head-scratching at the semi-premium price point of around $3.50. More good here than bad though as the Willys and T-Bird look great in their respective decos. For me, it’s the ’32 Ford that is the winner here. The casting usually isn’t the first to go, but in this “salt spray” deco and those #CAST5 wheels, this release has me thinking I may start the arduous task of going back and trying to build a casting collection of this Hot Wheels classic!

I unboxed one of these 10-count cases on the OTD YouTube Channel within the full #Case Report that you see here. Tune in and let me know what you think. Let me know your thoughts.

  1. sorry, got cut off, the 88 is too mainline looking to pass for premium, the 86 prostreet with the diecast snoekel would have fit the premium mold
