Hot Wheels Monster Trucks 2024 “A” CASE REPORT

Merry Christmas! #Hot Wheels Monster Trucks (HWMT) have been fun to collect. Pretty much no rules as to what goes in this line — and it shows! Hot Wheels Designer, Brendon Vetuskey has been using HWMT as a way to not only bring back nostalgic trucks like #Bigfoot, but also nostalgic Hot Wheels castings like the Hi-Tailer Hauler and Poison Pinto.

I have teamed up with James from Jcar Diecast to bring you the first three cases for 2024: A, B, and C. For each, we will do an unboxing of all eight trucks on the OTD YouTube Channel, and have a full #Case Report for you here.

#Hot Wheels Monster Trucks cases contain only 8 vehicles, unlike Hot Wheels basics cases which have 72. The nice thing about this is you can buy the case not have to worry about duplicates.

If you follow the 2024 Hot Wheels MASTER LIST / Hot Wheels Monster Trucks page I have here on OTD, you can see a list of the known vehicles in each case. Below you’ll find the 2024 “A” case list — all of which are seen in this video and in the images below.

  • Poppy (Trolls: Band Together)
  • Bone Shaker (Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live 1/8)
  • Duck N Roll (HWMT Back to Basics 1/7)
  • Cagerattler (Beast Bashers 1/6)
  • Invader (Camo Crashers 1/4)
  • Volkswagen Beetle (Freestyle Wreckers 1/12)
  • Back to the Future Time Machine
  • Cliff Starbird MonsterVETTE (Leading Legends 1/5)

  1. The Poppy HWMT is an amped up version of the character car. Designing it this way solved two challenges: A- it amped up the Poppy character, as a HWMT should be amped up if it’s based on an existing casting (and not just the same thing added to a HWMT chassis) B- it lengthened the body which we needed as the HWMT chassis/ cage is an existing part. It looks bad if the body is too short and doesn’t cover it.

The Duck n Roll was fun to work on as we amped up Ryu’s iconic car with a snarl and the water spray. Sculpting that water spray wasn’t easy, either. It took a few tries to get it to look right and it’s asymmetrical, too, as it should be.
