6/11/2020 — In case you missed it, Autoweek blogger, Natalie Neff had the Head of Diecast Design at Mattel, Ted Wu, on a segment of hers titled, “In the car with…”. In the segment, Ted gives an overview of diecast design at Mattel — from his 2014 Porsche 911S. He takes a look at some favorite Hot Wheels of Natalie’s son like the ’09 Ford Focus RS, #’52 Hudson Hornet, and #Bone Shaker, and goes on to talk about both vintage and modern design. Ted makes a point to mention a new collector favorite in the Manga Tuner designed by Ryu Asada, and the inspiration behind the Wheelie Chair. Check out the interview below!

  1. Like Natalie I am also partial to vans. Ford Transit Supervan, Baja Breaker, ’66 Dodge A100, Super Van, Custom GMC or A-Team Van, GMC Motorhome, Dream Van XGW and even the ’67 Austin Mini Van I like them all. Don’t forget your Punisher Van, Good Humor Truck or Deadpool Chimichanga/Ice Cream Truck, Custom ’77 Dodge Van, Cool-One, Mystery Machine, Volkswagen T1 Panel Bus, Deco Delivery, Beach Bomb, Volkswagen Deluxe Station Wagon and Volkswagen Drag Bus. Am I forgetting some? Probably and I want those too.

  2. What a true dream job! How awesome would it be to be a fly on the wall in that Think Tank! Cool video, thanks for sharing Brad.
