Sneak Peeks from Friday Night’s RLC PARTY in Los Angeles!

10/6/2018 — What a great night last night! I met so many fellow RLC Members and chances are, if you won a prize during the raffle, I was the one that drew your ticket. I had fun emceeing the RLC Party so hopefully those collectors that were in attendance enjoyed it as well. There were so many great prizes that I was sad I wasn’t eligible to win any. Cheers to those that won!

With that said, I didn’t get to hear much of the spiel as it pertained to these cars below. I did talk to a few of the Mattel folks after and they were able to answer the questions that I did have. I will include what I know with the accompanying pictures below.

Red Line Club 2019

If you thought the end of 2018 in the RLC has been great in terms of releases, you should be completely stoked for what 2019 has to offer. The general theme seems to be vehicles with opening/moving pieces. I am super excited for the ’82 Lamborghini Countach with Scissor Doors myself — hence why I made it the cover photo and am showing it first!

Maybe you’re not a fan of the scissor doors on the Lambo for whatever crazy reason… lets say you’re more of a fan of the gull-wing doors. There will be no reason to feel like you’re missing out as there will also be a ’55 Mercedes-Benz 300SL.

Maybe you’re an opening parts snob… maybe you’re like, “opening doors are nice, but I want more”… hmmm, okay… then there is the Porsche 930 RWB with opening doors AND rear hood!

Still not impressed? How about a ’69 Chevy C-10 Truck that has an adjustable suspension??? Seen that before? Nope… Patent Pending.

Like Gassers? How about a ’41 Willys Gasser with “tilt forward front cowl” and “New Cheater Slick Tires? So much want…

Don’t worry JDM fans, you’re not being left behind. There is a brand-new tool for the R34 Skyline — the ’01 Nissan Skyline R34 with opening hood, and added disc brake detail on the chassis.

Its not just new castings that are in development for 2019. There is a brand-new chameleon color that will be seen on a 2019 RLC release.

I know some of you guys are impatient. I get it, I am too. Well, how about something that should be released this year? The RLC iteration of the Steam Punk Truck should go on sale soon. This one really shines.

Finally, to start out 2019 with a bang, the Custom Camaro returns in Spectraflame Black as it will be the 2019 RLC Membership car. NOTE: Sorry for the bad quality of the pic! It doesn’t do the car justice.

Car Culture 2019

The first series for 2019 will be Gulf Racing. I was able to snap a quick pic of the back of the card which has artwork showing all five cars in the series: ’60s Fiat 500D Modificado, ’69 Ford Mustang Boss 302, Nissan Laurel 2000 SGX, Volkswagen Golf MK7 and the McLaren F1 GTR.

Below is the AMG-Mercedes GT3 from an unnamed, upcoming Car Culture series

Acura NSX GT3 from an unnamed, upcoming Car Culture series

Off Road Volkswagen Beetle from an unnamed, upcoming Car Culture series

Porsche RWB 930 and the Aero Lift Transporter due out in 2019 Car Culture / Team Transport

Pop Culture 2018

The lone Pop Culture release on the sneaks board was the Mercedes-Benz Unimog U1300 from the Street Fighter V wave.

Replica Entertainment 2019

Lamborghini Huracán from Marvel’s Dr. Strange

New premium ’70 Chevelle SS casting by Mark Jones … line was not revealed.

Mainline 2019

2nd colorway of the brand-new, ’18 COPO Camaro casting (1st one will be dark orange).

2nd colorway of the brand-new, ’49 Volkswagen Beetle Pickup casting (1st one will be satin blue).

The brand-new, ’67 Jeepster Commando casting with new off-road wheels.

Gulf Racing hits the mainline again as this ’68 Chevy Nova should be a popular one with collectors.

Remember the Magnus Walker Urban outlaw ’71 Porsche 911 from 2018? Well, the casting returns with a POLIZEI deco.

Another great, brand-new casting — the ’84 Audi Sport Quattro

Oh, look… another new casting — the ’88 Honda CRX

More new castings? Sure! Audi RS5 Coupe

New Honda Civic Sedan… looks like a gen10…

The Kool Kombi returns in matte blue and a Magnus Walker Urban Outlaw deco.

New casting alert! A Gen 1 Mazda Miata gets tooled up.

This one seems like it will be popular. The McLaren Senna gets made… one word: aggressive!

The Nissan 300 ZX gets tooled up. Not sure if this is the final deco, but it looks very clean in all white.

The Nissan Series: Nissan Skyline BNCR33 gets the ZAMAC treatment, should be an upcoming Walmart Exclusive.

I didn’t get the name of this new Porsche casting… oops! Sorry…

Finally, I saved one of the best for last… This may be the mainline casting that I am most excited for… the Chevy Nova Wagon Gasser. I have a feeling we will see a lot of cool decos on this one.

That’s it! Excited??? I have a feeling you are. Let me know in the comments below, which one is the one you’re most excited for.

  1. I’m looking forward to all the new mainlines! I’m surprised that the RLC cars here actually make me want to get some of them but at the prices they go for it’s a bit too much

  2. Hands down the VW’s will be the hot ticket (For me anyway). Those opening hood and door models look great too though.

  3. “How about a ’69 Chevy C-10 Truck that has an adjustable suspension??? Seen that before? Nope… Patent Pending.”
I have, actually! Look up Muscle Machines’ Truckin’ line from the early 00s, some of them had an adjustable suspension.

    • The difference with ours is that when our truck is in a normal ride height, the wheels move out out to be flush with the truck body to avoid that narrow wheel base look.

    • The RLC/HWC 55 Gasser in olive drab, spectraflame with world war 2 nose art like the flying tigers and it is to be displayed in an ammo can is gonna blow the servers out of the water at RLC

  4. I found the Detroit Muscle 6-Car set tonight at Walmart! I wasn’t expecting these so soon. I had just heard about them yesterday.
