RLC Party Sneak Peeks straight from Los Angeles!

10/07/2017 — So many great Sneak Peeks were displayed at Friday night’s RLC Party at the 31st Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Convention in Los Angeles. If you were there, there is a good chance we talked. If not, we missed you and below is what you missed.

First, the 2018 RLC Membership car was on display — the Datsun Bluebird 510. Gone are the tiered memberships as this will be the one car for all members. Also, this car will be the first one to wear the brand-new, Neo-Classic Redline Real Riders!

Next up, fans of the Original 16 Hot Wheels can rest assured that the O16 will be well-represented during the 50th Anniversary as it was announced that the series would be finished by the end of 2018. Here’s the proof!

Most O16 fans know that the challenge with completing this series was that in order to do so, Hot Wheels had to regain the license to the Cheetah. Check that off the list!

RLC Members that subscribed to the HWC Series 14 series, will be please to know that the last 3 cars will ship (and go one sale for non-subscribers) before the end of the year. Here are the Convoy Custom and Long Gone. Datsun Bluebird 510 goes on sale next Tuesday (not pictured).

Two more HWC Special Editions should also go on sale before the end of the year — the Datsun 240Z and the ’70 Mustang Boss 302.

All-together, the first display shown had some great upcoming HWC/RLC release… but like an infomercial… WAIT! There’s more!

The second display featured something that has never been done before. Hot Wheels will now sell 3D Printed Prototypes via HotWheelsCollectors.com. Limited to 250 pieces, each one is individually numbered and comes in a hand-sanded, wooden box with windows in front and on back. Three castings will appear in 2018 and the Custom Camaro is one of them. You can bet these won’t be cheap!

Lots of Hot Wheels Collectors are also fans of the show Fast N’ Loud. During an episode last season, the guys at Gas Monkey Garage built the real Hi-Po Hauler for Hot Wheels. This will be a HWC release in 2018. Here is the first shot of it.

Also unveiled was the ’17 Ford F-150 Raptor that will be given the RLC treatment as this ultra-premium truck features and opening hood AND a tailgate the lowers. If that wasn’t enough, it will also feature the first Real Riders wheels to be licensed by Ford.

Lastly, the licensing relationship with car guys, Magnus Walker & Sung Kang, has taken an ultra premium turn. While the packaging is still in the works, HWC will be selling RLC quality castings with mini-figures of Magnus & Sung next to their respective cars — Magnus’ Porsche and Sung’s FuguZ.

  4. That Custom Eldorado looks really nice, I wish you didn’t have to go through RLC just to get it (just have RLC as a way to get the model a month or two early). I would so buy this kind of stuff through a Hobby dealer.
