Hot Wheels 2024 BOULEVARD (mix 2) V CASE REPORT

Hard to believe it’s July and we are only on mix two of #Hot Wheels Boulevard for 2024 — yet here we are. You can compare that to Car Culture though which we are just starting with mix A (World Tour) for 2024 and I guess it doesn’t seem as bad. Several things happening with mix 2 (V case) of Boulevard here. The milestone here is that we get #100 for Hot Wheels Boulevard. This varies from other Hot Wheels lines in that the releases have a running number on them (year after year) versus being in a series. This actually makes the whole line very collectible since collectors naturally don’t want to skip a number. I actually previewed this mix in the OTD Nationals Sneak Peeks for Premium.

The first car in this mix is #96, Larry Chen’s Formula Drift camera car, sponsored appropriately by Canon. You can see this ’21 Toyota GR Supra at Formula Drift events with a large camera rig on top of it — bonus points if a collector can 3D print one of those to go with this release! Cool that we now have a bunch of Formula Drift cars, and now a “support” vehicle in this. The FD collection is coming along nicely.

The “mint gelato” #’60s Fiat 500 D Modificado is #97. This quaint little Fiat has been around since 2017, and the releases of it have formed a nice little collection. The deco on this may not be for everyone, but kudos to the graphic designer here who gave this one some serious Italian vibes.

#98 is the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 — a very clean release of the casting which shouldn’t be understated. The dark aqua with bronze rims is a nice look for this ’90s sports car.

Godzilla on Godzilla! The most popular car of the mix is undoubtedly the #Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR32) in white with a “ghosted” baby/cartoon Godzilla on the sides. We saw the original R32 casting appear in the mainline last year with a Godzilla deco, and then the R33 appeared earlier this year with a similar deco. Now, this mini collection of Godzillas on Godzillas (Skylines) crosses into premium. This pairing just seems right, and the 1-color deco on this Boulevard release actually seems like something you’d see at a car meet.

Lastly, we reach Boulevard #100 — a milestone worth celebrating! Remember when then original Boulevard line was discontinued? It just goes to show you how far Hot Wheels collectors have come in carrying Hot Wheels premium lines. The Hot Wheels Design Team put a little extra thought into what car would be #100. This is a special color of the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4. The 1:1 was first released in Japan in this color and only 112 were made. The card art features a few Easter eggs celebrating #100 with the fireworks in the sky (and subsequent reflection in this windshield), along with the 100 address on the curb.

I unboxed one of these 10-count cases on the OTD YouTube Channel, and have a full #Case Report for you below.

#Hot Wheels Boulevard cases (GJT68) contain only 10 vehicles, and are exclusive to Walmart stores in the United States. In this mix, you are guaranteed to get all 5 cars in the series (x2).

To keep up with the latest Boulevard mixes for 2024, make sure you check out the 2024 Hot Wheels Master List here on OTD.

      • thanks, brad, I’ve seen them being offered from the pacific crest regions, but I figured those were factory refugees. I have not heard anything state side. I hope to score a bunch of them.
