Hot Wheels 2024 56th Anniversary Teal & Chrome MIX 2 (F) CASE REPORT

Mix 2 of the Hot Wheels 56th #Anniversary Series is here! Thanks to 1 Stop Diecast for sponsoring this post and for supplying the case. I’m not sure of the logic behind how the castings for this series are chosen, but MIX 2 is definitely the “car mix” whereas MIX 1 was more of the “truck mix”. Yeah, I know there was a gasser and a compact in that mix but, I’m speaking in more of a general sense.

In mix 2 we see two more of the Noppo-style, Tooned vehicles in the Tooned Volkswagen Golf MK1 and Tooned Twin Mill — joining the Tooned ’83 Chevy Silverado from the first mix. Three winged race cars make up 3 of the 6 of this mix. The ’87 Ford Sierra Cosworth and ’20 Toyota GR Supra have both been released previously in basics and in premium. You can chalk up another basics release here for each casting. The last two castings in this mix include a casting that I have long-collected, and one that I am thinking of collecting.

The Nissan Silvia (S14) Drift is a cool casting. I haven’t officially started collecting it, but I already have the first two from iD and Ultra Hots so this makes the third. The car is fun. The front bumper/chin is missing giving it the look of a drift car made for racing and not the showroom. From what I understand, some drift cars are built like this, while others simply lose it while racing. I prefer to think the latter happened here.

The plastic-bodied version of the #Custom ’77 Dodge Van gets another release here — as the #Chase! One comes per case so buying a factory-sealed case should net you one. The chase factor holds more truth at retail where it will be harder to track down. I have long-collected this casting which originally debuted in 2008. I have even tracked down some very hard to find variations of it — most of which you can see in the 2019 video I filmed for the OTD YouTube Channel.

This series is not available at big-box stores like Walmart and Target, and is typically available only at grocery and drug stores. Ordering a case from 1 Stop Diecast will net you a complete set of 6, plus some extras to share with your collector friends or kids. A case is $54-shipped (in the U.S.) so divided by the 24 vehicles in a case, that comes out to $2.25 each — which is pretty much the retail price which can vary depending on where you find. Below is a link for you to order your own case. I unboxed one of these 24-count cases on the OTD YouTube Channel, and have a full #Case Report for you here.
