Race World • Earth: STOCKAR

Hot Wheels #Halloween cars have always been fun to collect. It seems just about every year we have at least one series designated for them. This year, we got The Nightmare Before Christmas series since it was the 25th anniversary of that movie. To tell you the truth, as much as I liked it, I kind of wish we had still gotten a designated Halloween series. Combine that with the fact that we didn’t get a Halloween release in the Red Line Club this year — haven’t got one in several years now — and that void grows.

I featured the Scary Dairy Delivery the other day which was (and continues to be) one of my favorite Hot Wheels #Halloween releases to this day. But, what about Hot Wheels that weren’t featured in a Halloween-specific series? The car I have for you today, wasn’t. In 2010, Hot Wheels released a ghostly-looking #Stockar in the mainline series #Race World • Earth.

This #Stockar was never intended to be a #Halloween release. So, instead of it being a ghost like some other clear-bodied Hot Wheels releases were suppose to represent, the #Race World • Earth Stockar was styled like this to represent “Air”. It was one of four basic “elements” in the segment of four cars. Fire, Earth and Water were the other three and they were represented on the Nerve Hammer, #Scion xB and Paradigm Shift (respectively). Of these four transparent-bodied #X-Raycers though, it was the “Air” Stockar that had collectors in 2010 thinking they found something special.

It turned out that as unique the #Race World • Earth series #Stockar was, there was no problem finding it on the pegs as it was just another basic car in the #2010 Hot Wheels mainline. Still, that didn’t stop me from picking one (or several) of these up as I figured it would be a great addition to my Hot Wheels #Halloween collection. If you’re looking to grow yours, this may be one of those “out-of-the-box releases” you may have overlooked/omitted in the past. Its pretty cool to say the least.
